General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease causing white patches on the skin.White patches occur due to the loss of melanin in the skin. There is no complete cure for vitiligo.

Do not worry. The progression of the disease can be retarded to a certain extent by local application of immunosuppressant ointment and uv treatment.I would suggest you to continue treatment.

Please consult your Dermatologist for appropriate treatment. Reduce consumption of seafood and sour food such as curd, tomato and tamarind. Always use sunscreen before stepping out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
