Does Valparin Have Any Side Effects?

My son with age of 2.4 has been experienced seizure disorder during 1 and two yrs after affected by heavy fever, now doctor advised to take Valporain twice a day for one year, May i know that is there is any side effect. How to handle the boy activity.
