Does Pain In Lower Abdomen With Little Blood Discharge Be Due To Displaced Mirena?
I have had the mirena since september. When I poop, I get pains in my lower abdomen as if something is poking inside me. I will also have small amounts of blood from my vagina after wiping. I have never been able to feel the strings of my mirena. Could this be due to my mirena being out of place?
Sometimes while being an intrauterine contraceptive devices like Mirena, pain abdomen, inter-menstrual spotting, vaginal discharge, side effects etc. can be seen. Women with intrauterine contraceptive devices are more prone to pelvic infection also. As you are not able to feel the strings of the Mirena better to get examined once.
By clinical examination and ultrasound the position of the Mirena can be confirmed and also the possibility of pelvic infection can be ruled out. In case of displacement of the intrauterine contraceptive device, it may need to be removed. If pelvic infection along with cervical erosion leading to these problems, local and systemic antibiotics can help in relieving the symptoms.
