Hello and welcome to HCM,

Widal test is an serological test.
It is done to detect typhoid infection.
It detects antibody agisnt Salmonella typhi which is a bacteria which causes typhoid.
The test is done against two antigens- O and H.
The test is considered positive or reactive if the antibody titres are 1:80 or above.
In your test report, the titres are only 1:40.
Thus, typhoid infection is ruled out.

However, it has to be kept in mind that false negative result is obtained if antibiotics are taken prior to the test.
Consult your primary health provider with the report.

Thanks and take care
