Does Low Grade Glioma Require Surgery?
Hi, many thax for this informative forum. I was recently diagnosed with low grade glioma and the doctor prescribed epileptic control drugs and we apply wait and see attitude as in accordance to him their casses of dormant gliomas. I've sought second and third opinions and am told surgery is the best way forward, am in dilemma should I stick with my doctor advise or go for surgery

I agree with your doctor decision to wait and see, because this will help evaluate the speed of progression.
From the other hand, surgery depends on the location of the tumor and the adjacent brain structure. So, it may be high or low risk surgery.
I recommend follow up with brain MRI after 6 months, in order to evaluate the progression. If it grows very slowly, everything will be OK.
