Does Frequent Loss And Gain In Weight Indicate Perimenopause?
I have swollen abdomen, legs and feet. I will have the symptoms then have menstral cycle and lose all the water and swelling. The cycles are heavy and painful. I actually lose and gain about 10 lbs, back and forth every month. Are these symptoms of perimenopause?
Hello, Thank you for your query. These symptoms indicate a hormonal imbalance.
I recommend - - a physician consult and OBGYN consult. -blood tests (thyroid function tests, complete blood count, estrogen and progesterone levels, follicle stimulating hormone and leutenizing hormone ,kidney and liver function tests) - ultrasound pelvis to check fibroids, ovarian cysts. -maintain active lifestyle and exercise -restrict salt intake close to menstrual cycles and during it -take a calcium and vitamin C supplement every day
This irregularity can occur in the perimenopausal period but needs to be checked out to make sure nothing else is wrong. Based on the the above a treatment plan will be initiated. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Wish you good health.
