Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for you as follows:
1. If you have had such symptoms only first time, I would suggest you not to worry about
asthma at present. In asthma, usually patients have frequent or constant symptoms of cough, breathlessness,
chest tightness, etc which may improve and worsen over long periods.
2. If you have such symptoms repeatedly or frequently or seasonal, I would suggest you an investigation called "
spirometry with post-
bronchodilator study" which is important to diagnose asthma. Usually pulmonologists and allergists perform such investigation.
3.
Deflazacort is an oral corticosteroid which controls inflammation (akin to "swelling" in common language) of the airways and thus improves breathlessness and other symptoms. It is preferred in severe symptoms.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.
Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.
Wish you the best of the health and a very good recovery ahead.
Thank you & Regards.
