Does Being Exposed To Chemicals At Work Cause Neuropathy?
i have been told by a nueroligist that i have mild neuropathy, he has done blood work and said everything looks good. i work at a chemical plant where i am exposed to lots of fumes and chemicals. one i found says that it can cause nervous system disturbances. i have been having these pains for six months now. i am on neurontin 300mg twice a day and it doesnt seem to be helping. what is wrong with me? could it be the chemicals that i work with. I seem to feel worse on days after i work

There are many causes of Neuropathy , common are Diabetes, Alcohol intake , Vitamin B12 , B6 deficiency .
Also exposure to certain chemicals like Arsenic, Lead ,mercury for long time can cause Neuropathy.
I advise you ask your Neurologist to check your blood levels of Arsenic, Lead ,mercury .
Also the medication given by your Neurologist is right but it takes at least 2 weeks for notice some effect and at least 3 months to get significant relief. So kindly continue the same medicine.
