Do Periods After An Abortion Start With Severe Cramps ?

Hi , I am a lady of 28 years and have one daughter of 2 + years,i have undergone one abortion too 2 months ago ,but after that my mensuratual cycle was normal but now i am getting severe mensuration cramps but not having bleeding started,i am having pain from last one week

There could be many possibilities. If the D&C was done after abortion then scars would have formed inside uterus and caused blockage of menses to come. There could also be presence of cervical stenosis which can also be due to D&C. If you have not had D&C the causes could be presence of Fibroid which is blocking the cervix and causing block of menses blood flow. Even certain hormonal disturbances like big ovarian cyst can cause such a problem. It is best you wait for 7-10 days from expected start day of period till period starts and if it does not come then you need to do a Pregnancy test. If pregnancy test is negative then consult Gynaecologist to examine you and look for such mentioned problems. Drink plenty of water. Avoid constipation by eating plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Do daily brisk walking for 40 minutes.
