Do I Need A Surgery For Removing Sac In Esophagus?

have a sac in my esophagus which needs to be removed. It is about the size of a golf ball. Am I right in assuming that it is caused by acid reflux? Since it is that large do you reccomend removing it surgically? How does the fluid get in there as well as the other food items

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If this is the inflammatory condition of esophagus because of acid reflux disease then it may not need any surgery but it can be well managed with tab Omeprazole and tab Domperidone. I would suggest to confirm the diagnosis first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Akhtarhusain
