Diarrhea, Cramps And Bloating In Stomach. Family History Of Crohns Disease. Is This The Cause For Concern?

I have had diarrhea for about the past week along with cramps. I finally passed a somewhat normal stool which was smaller and clay like colored. I have also noticed my stomach seems to look a little bloated under my rib cage area right in the middle. My dad has been diagnosed with Crohn's disease and has been in remission. Should I be worried? Should I make a doctors appointment?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM

Gastrointestinal infections are common due to altered food intake. As you had single episode of loose stool, which is common due to altered food habit. not to worry for it.
If you get repeated episodes of loose stool or constipation needs concern, For which evaluation is necessary.
As you have mentioned about abdominal bloating get ultrasound abdomen done to look for any organomegaly and gall bladder distension.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
