I have a surgery performed where the LES ring was cut away since my esophagus was not moving my food down and the LES was deteriorating to the point I have a small hole to push food through. Boost for approx. 5 years. Everything deteriorated finally just recently had a Heller's Myotomy. Have encountered several serious side effects. Continuous diahhre, incredible bloating. I am terrified to eat anyttrhing. Old food was discovered festering in my lungs and other places. AFter Myotomy - I am miserable.. Help?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Dear friend,

I am Dr. (Col) R Karanwal, M.D. (Internal Medicine), Consultant Physician, for your assistance.

Thanks for reposing your faith in me and post your query on this website. I fully appreciate your concerns.

I am afraid that you have already undergone all possible surgical treatments for the condition.

I will recommend that you consult your surgeon again and discuss the feasibility of Botox treatment.

Also, if I was your treating doctor, I would have suggested a trial of Calcium Channel Blockers and long-acting Nitrates.

Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.

I am confident that you will benefit from the advice.

May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance. My endeavor would always be to give you a sound medical advice, to the best of my knowledge and vast experience.

HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

Fond Regards,

Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
