Diagnosed Ulcerative Collitis. Have Excess Hair Loss. Taking Biotin Tablet

I am 49 yrs old female .4months back i have been diagonised with ulcerative collitis.I have been taking its medicine.my weight is 50kg.ihave been suffering from excessive hairloss for the last 1 month.My doctor has given me biotin tablet which ihave been taking for the last 17 days but the condition has not improved.Kindly advise.

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Hairs loss may be due to the side effects of drugs , which you are taking for ulcerative colitis.
Now you are taking biotin for hairs loss , just 17 days ago treatment started . In these type of case ( in hairs loss ) at least 3-6 months requires for any good result , so wait for that time.
Also may help tretinoin + minoxidil +azelaic acid solution ( for local use on hairs).
Use premethrin soap for hairs wash.
Calcium pantothenate also helps .
In my opinion consult a dermatologist and get his opinion . Good luck. DR. het
