Diabetic With Disorientation Coupled With Extreme Activity Levels. Are The Glucose Levels Cause For Concern?

My husband is an insulin dependant diabetic. Since waking this morning he has been over active, then under-active, now is confused, and has gone to lie down. I had been out shopping for the last 2.5 hours. I immediately took his blood glucose level which registered at 24. On waking this morning, pre porrige breakfast it was 14.7. His morning insulin (via pen) is 45 units. Is he in danger?

Diabetologist 's  Response
he has severe hypoglycemia
take him to the hospital immeadiately
and meanwhile, keep giving him some sugary fluids

the problem looks like it is induced by insulin overdose

get him to a hospital
and once admitted his sugars can be stabilized

once he stabilizes his insulin dose needs to be refixed

meanwhile make sure that his creatinine levels are tested

best of luck
