Diabetic. Taking Minidab And Diabex. Losing Weight. Suggest
i have diabetes for the last 8years and have now changed to minidab and diabex - i've noticed in the last year i have basically shrunk in size....is it my medication .... i was told by my doctor to just take minidab and see the results because diabex was making me lose weight but even after that - am still losing weight??? i can't affort to lose anymore weight....

Metformin (Diabex): Reduces weight as rightly told by your doctor but that is the 1st line of drug for Diabetes.
Minidab: It will not reduce weight but will control sugar level after food.
Lack of insulin in body also reduce your weight. So Minidab will assist you to release more insulin. But it may be insufficient. Get one C peptide assay for your body insulin level along with FBS, PPBS and HbA1c to put right drug with right amount. Wish you good health.

IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO GAIN WEIGHT WITH THESE MEDICINES, YOU CAN SWITCH OVER TO INSULINS, I THINK SO THAT IS THE BEST MEDICINE IN DIABETES WHICH RISES WEIGHT.
SECONDLY PROTIEN SUPPLEMENTS WILL BE HELPFUL IF YOU ARE NOT SUFFERING FROM RENAL DISEASES.
