General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to HCM.

I am sorry for your loss. Based on the information you have provided, the blood sugar of 230 mg/dl is pretty high and is considered as uncontrolled diabetes. There are many reasons of sudden cardiac arrest followed by sudden cardiac death. One of the predominant reason is coronary artery disease (ischemia and infarction). Usually, when a person experiences heart attack, there is severe chest pain. Unfortunately, in diabetes high blood sugar damages the pain sensitive nerves (including the heart) to experience any pain. It is a possibility that he must have had a massive heart attack that he was unable to feel.

Other reasons are related to cardiac arrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia followed by fibrillation.

Hope this helps.

Hello,
I really feel very sorry on your husband's death.
Uncontrolled diabetes with hypertension and high cholesterol patients have two to four fold higher chances of developing coronary artery disease and cerebrovascular disease as compared to non diabetics. His report of blood sugar as 230 confirms that his parameters were not normal.
It is very essential to keep diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol levels in very tight control so as to avoid various complications.
Thanks

hi,
the very fact that he was diabetic for 10 years, doesnt not mean he was diabetic for 10 year only, as he just detected 10 years back, no one knows when it started.
secondly, complications are not related to level of blood sugar, anything above 140 is at risk for heart attacks. it mainly depends on family history of complication and duration of uncontrolled diabetes. his diabetes was surely uncontrolled (230). always better to take allopathic along with Ayurveda to be safer side.
now you and your children start healthy life style, healthy diet, daily physical activity etc. to prevent future risk of these diseases.

wish you healthy life
