Delayed Periods, Stomach Bloating, Metallic Taste In Mouth, Tender Nipples. On Copper Iud. Chances Of Ectopic Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 35 with a copper iud . I have 2 chn already. Today is 40 days since my last period, I m bloated, metallic taste in my mouth, tender nipples. This all feels very familiar but I have had scares before which have all been negative. I haven t taken an hpt yet since the failure rate of the iud is meant to be so low, but when should I worry? Concerned about ectopic pg - what are the signs of that? Thanks!

metallic taste can sometimes be because of the IUD metal. IUD's have a failure rate from 0.1 to 2.2% according to the different models after one year of use. Efficacy of IUD's decrease with time.

chances of ectopic pregnancy are rare.

signs and symptoms of normal pregnancy are softening,bluish discolouration of vagina,increased vaginal discharge,increase in breast size,darkening of nipple, absence of menses,weight gain in first 3 months. I suggest you to do a urine pregnancy test at home.
ectopic pregnancy some symptoms are abdominal pain,altered scanty bloody vaginal discharge,absence of menses.
