Hello...My father has cirrosis of the liver...He drank for about 20 years and contracted hep c from a blood transfusion when he was 8 years old from appencidicitis. He has been sober for 18 years and he continues to get sick well, I know your liver does not recover once it is already damaged. He has portopulmonary hypertention and his pressure is 60 and it needs to be 30 or less to have a transplant. He goes for another heart cath on November 1st to check his pressure. But, I have a feeling that this is not good and I want to ask you about a pungent odor that he has constantly. Is it his liver rotting inside of him and when this gets worse is there an estimated guess of how much longer someone can live because I can tell he is getting worse. His kidneys failed so he is on dialysis now also. Everything is such a mess and I pray to god that he made it through another day at the end of every day. Thank you for your time.
