Could Sleeping For Almost 24 Hours Be Due To Depression?
My 86 year old grandfather has for the last few weeks not been able to stay awake, he is sleeping close to 24 hours a day, up only to shower and have a small meal. He was diagnosed as a manic depressant at 30 and has been on lithium since. He had his bloods checked 6 weeks ago with results all fine. Could this be a depression thing?
hi dear, in depression not sleeping all the time but stay in a state like sleep. if he is on lithium then even he has such complain then change molecule by consulting your doctor as now a days there are many medication in market for particularly bipolar depression. so not to worry and consult your psychiatrist for the same at present lamotrigine is good option for bipolar depression. Thank you
