Hello and Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I will try to the best of my ability to help you with your concern. The symptom you mention in query is occurring due to sinus infection that is sinusitis . Sinuses are empty spaces in the skull , sometimes infection occur in the sinuses . There is inflammation of the limning of the sinus and they getfilled by fluid . This is the reason for swelling , numbness and pain on face . I would suggest you to :- - Give warm compresses on affected side of the face . - Take steam twice a day . - Drink warm water with one spoon of honey in it throughout the day . - Tale ibuprofen (if not allergic) or paracetamol for pain and swelling. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and to rule out cause like trigeminal neuralgia . Doctor may prder X-ray or Ct scan of face to confirm diagnosis .
