Hello,

All your symptoms of discomfort in abdomen, loss of weight, circular rashes on knees, anemia and all in spite of a course of Tinidazole and Metronidazole indicate that there may be a larger problem than you thought.

Hence, I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Send the sample of stool for three consecutive days.
- Tests of blood and urine.
- If there is any evidence of an infection, a course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection for 5 days.

If there is no result then you obviously need further studies like Colonoscopy and biopsy, CT scan of abdomen and thus to get a proper diagnosis and have a proper plan of management.

Also identify the foods and beverages that cause the problems and stop these altogether.
If all the investigations are normal then this may be IBS that irritable bowel syndrome. Control of stress and anxiety can help you well. Watch out for the food and water source, if infected or not.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant
