Could High Fever Be Due To The Head Injury?

My baby is 22 months old. She got her head hit with corner of one wooden table. We put ice and it was not that much swelling. In few minutes her body temprature started in increase. Now after 6 hours her temprature under the armpit is 38.4 We gave her paracetamol (125 mg suppository twice in 4 Hours). What could be the reason for this high fever. She just recoverd from bad throat a weeks back. At that time also she was having high fever. Does this accidenet (hit on her head) cause this high fever ? Kindly advice....

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Concussion can rarely cause fever. Consult a pediatrician at the earliest and get evaluated. A CT scan of the head is required to rule out intracranial causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
