Could Blood Tinged Reflux Be Due To A Tear Of Oesophagus?
HELLO TO ALL DOCTORS
I HAVE ESOPHAGITIS AND AM TAKING ACIPHEX 20 MG DAILY. IN THE LAST 2 YEARS IH AVE HAD THREE EPISODES WHERE A SMALL AMOUNT OF REFLUX COMES INTO MY MOUTH WITH BROWISH HINT OF BLOOD. COULD THIS BE A MINOR TEAR SOME WHERE? IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED THREE TIMES . I AM 47 YEARS OLD, NON SMOKER AND NON DRINKER. THANK YOU JOE
Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com I have evaluated your query in details .
* This seems more of bleeding gastric ulcer rather than tear oesophagus . * Needs upper GI endoscopy for the confirmation of the diagnosis and further management .
Wishing you fine recovery . Feel free to ask any further queries .
