Constipation, Bleeding From Vagina, Metallic Taste In Mouth. Meet Doctor?
I've been constipated for about 5 days an its just to large to pass. Now I'm bleeding from my vagina with a metallic taste in my mouth. I had a at therapeutic abortion at home about 7weeks ago an I bleed for 25 days an I haven't bleed in a week until now. So I'm majorly constipated an now. I'm just worried if I'm having abnormal bleeding or its simply my period. But I have a metallic taste in my mouth. Should I just go to the ER?
Hi and thanks for the query, The history of a therapeutic abortion deserves a careful evaluation to know exactly why you are bleeding. The commonest cause of this is usually an incomplete abortion, meaning some parts of the fetal debris remains in the uterus. An ultrasound is needed to check the contents of the uterus, In case any material is found, evacuation of this debris shall have to be done. If empty, uterine contracting agents could be used to stop the bleeding. The commonest complications are mainly infection of the debris. It is possible that it should be a period, but serious complications like retention debris must be excluded. I do think you consult a gynecologist. Kind regards
