Constant Vomiting Of Any Food Intake, No Flu, No Stomach Ache. History Of Eating A Cheeseburger. Opinion?

Hi Dr. Since last Sunday evening, after I had eaten a cheesburger for lunch, I have not been able to keep anything down. This is so odd as I feel totally fine, no flue, no stomach ache, etc....totally fine but I just can't seem to keep anything down for more than 10 minutes and I have to throw it up. Even water. However, having barley eaten anything, I am not the least bit hungry and I actually feel "full". I had my stomach stapled 25 years ago, so am used to "throwing up" if I eat to much, but this is now happening even if I have say 2 bites of something or a few sips of water! Very Wierd!

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Persistent vomiting can have different causes but since you symptoms starting acutely, the most likely cause is gastritis.
This refers to irritation or inflammation of the stomach.

This is also more likely since it seemed to have started after the use of the cheeseburger.

You may want to consider using small amounts of liquids , rehydration liquids would be best to replace the fluid and salts that you are losing.
You can consider the use of an anti emetic to reduce the vomiting. Some common anti emetics are meclizine chloride, dimenhydrinate.

If there is no vomiting for 2 to 3 hours then you can start using small amounts of dry foods

I hope this helps
