Colonoscopy Done. Strange Sensation In Eyes, Watery, Itchy. Symptoms Related To Procedure?

Following a colonoscopy , I woke up with a strange sensation like being poked in the left eye. My eye was watering and itchy and I had to turn off the lights to get some relief. The following day the sensation is less but I now have a headache and feel somewhat weak...are these related to the procedure or the anesthesia I received during the procedure?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The watering and itchy sensation in the eyes can be related to the allergic reaction to some of the chemicals used to sterilize the operation theater. Most of the times, this is self limiting and will pass off on washing your eyes properly.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
