Children With Rashes Spreading On The Body. Allergy?

I have a 3 year old son and a 5 year old daughter. Yesterday, I noticed my sons private area was very red and looked irritated, but at the time he was in the bath tub, so I thought maybe it was just from the warm water. I checked him out today, and its still very red and his testicles are peeling. Also, he has little red bumps all over his chest, back, and inner thighs. Also, to top it off, I noticed now that my little girl has the red bumps also under her arms, up her neck, and on her chest and back. They havent ate anything unusual, and I havent changed laundary detergents. Have any idea what this could be??? I would appreciate any help.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi ! From the description that you gave it do looks like allergy to me . The best way to diagnose whether it is allergy or viral rash is try giving any anti allergic syrup like cetrizine and apply lactocalamine lotion. If the rashes disappear in one hour or so it is allergy otherwise you should consult your pediatrician. Take care.
