Children having severe persisting cough. Medication?

Hello sir my name is Barbara and I have two children with I believe to be severe coughs They are 3 & 5yrs old both have been sick since last thursday with fevers a little body ache and coughs But it has leveled down to nasty constant coughing through out the day and night Please help me I am having sleepless nights and they are missing school....Ive tried VitaminC, Vitamins , Tylenol , Pedia Care Med and Pedia Care juice........

Please have both your kids examined by your Pediatrician.
It can well be viral.

They might need medications based on the type of cough and examination findings.
If its a dry and irritating cough with a clear chest, your doctor will give you lozenges to soothe the throat and cough suppressants. If chest signs are there, he might give you expectorants or bronchodilators.
Its better not to try over the counter medications without getting them examined.

Cough is a very common disorder among children and therefore there are many home remedies available to treat the same. The following are some effective home remedies which can be used to get relief.
1. Drinking at least seven to eight ounces of water is recommended, while suffering from cough. Water helps in loosening the mucus.
2. Take juice of raw onion with honey for fast relief from dry cough.
3. Grapes are also considered among the best home remedies for cough. Grapes tones up the lungs and also acts as an expectorant.
4. Coughing can be reduced by drinking a mixture of honey and lemon grass juice.
5. Lemon juice with honey is also a good home remedy for treating cough
