Children Have Mucus In Diaper. No Tests Or Medication Till Now. What Could Be The Reason?

HI. I have a 4 year old daughter who had a bout of diarrhea about a week or two ago. My youngest had (15 months) also. I noticed mucus in the younger ones diaper two days ago and just a while ago my four year old (who wears a diaper for naptime) had in her stool also. I was told that as long as she doesn't have a fever cramps not to worry but it seems strange both have that. Is it a virus. Also no blood in stool. Other than that playing eating normally etc............the 4 year old has alwyas had to take pediasure to put on weight since she was little but she is very healthy otherwise.

Hi there ~

I understand your concern for your 4 year old daughter. I also think that you need to be rehydrating your daughter for the fluid loss she is experiencing with the loose stools. Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) is an effective way to get things going and also continue with the pediasure with supplemental natural foods to help with weight gain. I hope this helps. Consult a pediatrician if things are not improving. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
