Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Child With Nosebleeds, Blood Patches, Cluster Headaches With Vision Problems, Veins Seen Through Skin. Causes And Treatment?
My 14 year old daughter has had symptoms since she was very young. Nosebleeds some very heavy over the years. Blood spots in patches mostly on upper legs but sometimes on her arms that have come and gone over the years. Weekly headaches with vision problems over the last 5 years, doctor said cluster headaches. Dizzy spells been called up to the school many times over this. I wish I could send photo she was away for the weekend with a friend and sent photo from Iphone red purple batches over her chest and in the middle of her chest all the veins had come to the surface and where very blue, lasted a couple of hours then started to go away. Had headache most of the weekend all blood test have been normal except a little anemic and white blood count has been a little low at times but then comes back to normal
I can understand your concern. I would suggest that you discuss the medical history with your doctor and get the following investigations done, if not already done:
1. Hess test for capillary fragility
2. Bleeding and clotting profile.
The cause of anaemia should be investigated and then appropriate management started.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
