Child Suffering From Fever, Stomach Pain And Vomiting, Given Oflox Syrup And Dolo, No Relief. Suggestion?

hi sir, my daughter is suffering from fever and omitting whatever she eat, and she is feeling stomach pain, she is 4 1/2 year old, since 2 days. our pediatrician suggested through phone to give oflox syrup (1-0-1 5ml) and dolo-250 (1-1-1 5ml). after 2 days also no improvement in her. and also she is having caugh, kindly suggest us further

Hello Jayaramu,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

If the symptoms persist after taking the above mentioned medications then my suggestion is that you should go for consultation as the diseases might be more serious and require further investigation by the pediatrician or the infection might not be susceptible to oflox syrup and will require another treatment. If you are in a malaria endemic zone, I suggest that your daughter gets tested for malaria and if possible typhoid (normally if typhoid you should give it some few more days for treatment to go through). Blood tests will surely have to be resquested so that specific cause can be determined.
Fever in children can be from any organ or body system such as blood, ear, upper respiratory tract (with the cough, your daughter possibly has bronchitis and treatment will require amoxicillin or other antibiotics), GIT etc.
