Child Have Vomiting And Refuses To Eat. Have Bouts Of Hiccups. Is This A Serious Problem?

My nearly 2 year old daughter has recently started having bouts of hiccups followed soon after with sour smelling vomit. My grandmother claims 2-year molars since there is no fever. She plays normally, but refuses to eat practically anything and can barely keep even water down before the hiccups and vomiting begins. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Teething does not directly cause vomiting. But during such episode a child is likely to put every thing in the mouth. This may cause gastritis and vomiting and loose motions result.

First give antiemetic as prescribed by your doctor.
Rehydration is important.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
