Child Has Recurrent Chest And Ear Infection, Lethargic, Bloated Stomach And Diarrhea. Remedy?

My 19 month old daughter has not been a good eater for last 6 months vomting every day or so and only gaining 200g in that time, she has had recurrent chest and ear infections and has been generally unwell. In the last 3 - 4 weeks she has had increasing lethargy poor oral intake, diarrhea but increasingly fewer wet nappies. She spikes the occassional temp and has a very bloated stomoach. Her Gp has prescribed ab s for various infections and we have an appointment with a paediatric gastroenterologist next week but would like another opinion

hi

thanks for writing to health care magic
vomiting for six months and not gaining weight

definitely this child requires further examination and investigations for management

May be the child is having GERD which is responsible for the vomitings.....

this child is also going into some dehydration as indicated by fewer wet napies

Simple antibiotics may not be useful unless we come to a proper diagnosis for the cause of this recurrent vomitings and loose motions

hope this helps

take care
