Child Complaining Of Stomachache, High Fever, Cough With Mucous. Flu Symptoms?

I have a 3 veryear old that felt ill, lethargic on Wednesday complaining of her belly hurting. She had a 101 fever later that evening. On Thursday she was lathargic most of day then vomited at 4 am. She then seemed better on Friday, but still complaining of belly pains after eating. Saturday the belly pains continued (noticably after eating) with another elevated fever of 101. Sunday was better, so was Monday returning to a normal eating routine and now we are back to belly pains and a 102 fever. She also is coughing with mucus. Not sure if I'm dealing with a flu or something more serious. What do you recommend for next steps. Regards, Kelly

Pediatrician 's  Response
greetings.

as i can understand your child has a respiratory infections.
as we go into details.i would like to ask hows the motion of the child.
is she passing stool adequately or are there any loose motions.
when a child coughs,it gives pressure to the stomach also.
in a way as it is connected to the thorax.so its basically an exertion to both the abdomen as well as thorax muscle.
in a child it is more delicate and hence when coughing a lot it can lead to pain.
its important to treat the infection.
so its better to get the child examined and start on antibiotic if the examination prompts so.
try including more fluids and fibre and vegetables in the diet.
