Chest Pain, Tightness, Dry Cough. No Fever. Have Chest Congestion. Help
I am 32 years old and sailing onboard a vessel.i experienced strain like pain in the right chest area and applied fast relief cream thinking it wud be some sprain. But now i dont have any pain but feeling my whole chest area to be tight and also having dry cough.. Have no fever. But when i climb up stairs i start to breathe heavily. I have a feeling that i have chest congestion.But i dont have any sinus coming out of nose or when i cough. i am taking cough syrup and erythromycin( the medecine available onboard). will it help in relieving me.. when i cough i feel pain in chest area. When i intake food i feel full very soon and its like the whole chest and abdomen is tight. please advice.
Hello Sir, No fever & dry cough only suggests no infective aetiology. You can compelete your course of antibiotics. Try some Antitussives cough syrup.Get examined for Asthamatic disorder. Rule out GERD/Hiatus hernia or some underline cardiac disorder.
You could be suffering from lower respiratory tract infection which is causing pain. Pl continue to take antibiotics and other symptomatic treatment. You may also take nebulization or inhalers if they are available on board. If there is no relief with above measures, you may get a complete check up as soon as you reach the shore. The check up should include a x ray chest and a PFT as well.
