Change In Nature Of Periods, Longer Periods With Less Flow. Any Ideas?

Im 39 years old and back in January of this year when my period started for that month it didn't stop. It only stopped for a few days and then it came back again. This was like this for February and March. Then my periods were normal for the next couple of months until this month in August. I'm on birth control and I had a tubal when I had my son in 2011. I got on birth control to help with my period. It has until Jan of this year. When my period goes longer than it should the flow isn't heavier. It goes from being light brown to dark brown to blood again. Could you please tell me what you think could be going on.

Hi,
It seems that at this age due to some hormonal changes taking place might be giving rise this problem.
But your case should be evaluated to rule out any problem in your genital tract.
Consult Gynaec and get examined.
Ultra sound examination is very essential.
Do not go for hormonal medicine course without your Gynaec advice.
Ok and take care.
