Cellulitis On Both Legs From Ankle To Knee, Have Psoriasis. On Alpo Cephalex, Compression Stocking. Help

I would like a dermatologist please: I have cellulitis on both legs from ankle to knee (I also have psoriasis) I have been on alpo cephalex for 10 days 500 mg 6 a day. I was hoping there would be a difference in the legs by now. I also wear compression stocking and put them on even though my legs are still tender.

Liz.

Hi,

Thanks for writing here.

In case if your cellulitis not responded to cephalex you can go for amoxy clav.

You also need to take good pain killers like diclofenac and seratopeptidase combination.

Take complete rest.

Continue with stockoings and leg elevation.

Get your blood sugar status checked.

In case your infection does not resolve you may need debridment .

Hope this will help you.Take care.

Dermatologist Dr. Ilyas Patel's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Cellulitis might be alright with treatment you have taken.
Along with it, you take anti inflammatory drugs like paracetamol with mefenemic acid. Take serratopeptidase also.
Tenderness and swelling would be reduced.
However, continue to consult dermatologist for firm treatment.
And rule out internal diseases like DM,HIV,anaemia or other immunocompromised conditions by blood tests.
You told that you are having psoriasis also.. You might be taking treatment, but remember to avoid steroid any how, as it might exacerbate the psoriasis and cellulitis.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks ..

the cellulitis can be due to mediines taken for psoriasis
you can correlate the event which lead to cellulitis if it happened after partcular medicine you can change it and reverse the path
