Causes For Coughing Up Blood

hi my name is bryan and I have cough and blood came out. im 49 years old I did smoke in the past its been over 20 years...this is the third time this has happened the first time I cough up a half of a cup of blood...I went to the hospital got check out they did a number of test found nothing,,,a year ago it happened again but it was very little blood then went away..today is the third time it happened and now im wondering is it something to do with my past work...ive worked a number of jobs doing every type of maintenance...i don't feel like the blood is coming out of my lungs because when i take a deep breath i only feel a strange feeling in my throat and chest before i wont allow myself to panic i would like to know what you think is my problem .....thank you.

Hi. Thanks for a nice history. If there is bleeding , there has to be a source. The best way is to for for Endoscopies of nose, throat, pharynx, esophagus and brochi ( ENT , bronchoscopy and upper GI endoscopy) May be a ct scan then would help.
