My nephew has a growth on his skin that appears every time he is just getting over being sick from the flu. It appears on his cheek and after a day or two it opens up and then it looks like honeycomb and there are several little balls that sit in the space in the honeycomb which eventually fall out. What is it?
Your nephew may be having herpes simplex infection. It is a viral infection caused by herpes simplex virus type 1. The lesion may occur on lip or face whenever patient's immunity is lowered. The disease may relapse. You consult dermatologist, when this infection occur in your nephew. He might give antiviral drugs like acyclovir or famcyclovir. And antiviral crem like acyclovir cream may be applied. To prevent relapse, immunity of your nephew may be improved with immunomodulators like levamisol. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
