Cause For The Bumps On The Roof Of The Mouth?

My son just told me he has white bumps on the roof of his mouth for the last 6 days. He doesn t know if he has been running a fever. Just hasn t been feeling well. Some of the bumps pop and they are painful. What could this be? He is rinsing with mouthwash to help and has taken Benadryl in case of an allergic reaction? He has no money for a doctor.
