Can Untreated Mitral Valve Prolapse Lead To Numbness In Feet And Tingling In Hands?

I am 35 yrs old and have mitral valve prolaspe. I do physical work as a nursing assistant and I drink a cup of coffee the days I have to work because I suffer from fatigue. Before this I was doing home care and would sit for twelve hours and my ankles would swell up really bad. I also experience numbness in my feet. I also experience tingling in my arms at night while sleeping. The MVP is untreated and I am growing concerns...

I read your query very carefully.

The complaint you are experiencing may be related to the standing (your nursing job) than to the Mitral prolapse.

Usually mitral valve prolapse doesn't require a specific treatment only observation.

I recommend to perform anually check up with ECHO and Holter monitoring.
