Can Mifepristone And Misoprostol Be Taken To Terminate Pregnancy?

My wife's periods were due on 16-09-2012. Pregnancy test was positive. beta hcg was 304. she has been taking tretinoic acid for acne because of which her pregnancy needs to be terminated. When should she take mifepristone and misoprostol and how much?

Understand your concern.
Yes you can use mifepristone and misoprostol for abortion, but under the guidance of gynecologist and you can use only this drugs only for up to 9 week of pregnancy.
First you have to confirm the intrauterine pregnancy & gestational age by USG before using pills.

Because its only use in intrauterine pregnancy.
Better to consult the gynecologist for abortion to prevent complication of it.
You can used gynecologist prescribed medical abortion kit.

You can use below:
Day 1: One tablet of Mifepristone 600 mg (One tablet) take orally after meal

Day 3: After 48 hr of oral tablet, put two tablet of misoprostol in to vagina under the supervision of gynecologist.
If bleeding will not come put another two tablet after 6 hour

Day 14: Check for incomplete abortion by USG


Slight Bleeding and abdominal cramp may continue for 4-6 days.
After using kit take following advice:
Proper rest
Tablet meftal spas
Healthy diet
Check for foul smelling vaginal discharge to prevent infections.
