Can Metoprolol And PPI Cause Burning Feeling In Stomach And Throat?

I am a 64 year old woman, 5 7 tall 165 lbs. Recently changed to Metoprolol Succ 100 mg. because Anenolol 50mg. stopped working. (Tried Bystolic and b.p. went UP). Since then, I ve been having terrible burning in my stomach, chest, throat and mouth. PPI s help very little. Doctors say it cannot be from the Metoprolol. I decided to take no Met. and no PPI. Blood pressure came down, burning stopped. I also take Benicar 40 mg. and Hydrochlorot 12.5 mg. Next day, pulse went up to 108 so I decided to take 1/2 Metoprolol and still no PPI. Blood pressure and pulse has been good for a week but burning came back a little. Told Doctor, doctor says cannot be Metoprolol Per doctors suggestion, I took a PPI today and burning got worse. My understanding is that Metoprolol relaxes LES which is an underlying cause of acid reflux. Why is it impossible for my symptoms to be caused by Metoprolol? I have never had these symptoms before.
