Can Medicine For Blood Pressure Cause Sour Smell In Sweat?

When I sweat, I dont get musty like most people, to me I smell sour. I thought I had an overabundance of yeast because of the meds I had been taking for years for my blood pressure. Is this possible? I am 48 and had a miscarriage at 16 weeks last year.

Hi,

Antihypertensives cause taste and smell issues - Amlodipine, Diltiazem, Enalapril. If are using any of the above, you can change from the above drugs to another agent.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suneel V. Babu, Internal Medicine Specialist
