Can Medication For Nerve Pain Cause Spotting?

I am 22 y.o. I had an epidural steroid injection two weeks ago on the first day of my period (for a disc injury), which ended up lasting eleven or twelve days, and three or four days later, started a new medication for nerve pain, and suddenly had a significant amount of spotting. Could the medications be causing this?

Hello,

Yes, it could be because of the medication. I would stop taking the medication, and see your doctor for an alternative medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kasper Kristensen, General & Family Physician
