Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can local anaesthetic cause diarrhoea. I had local aneasthetic for dental treatment on Friday, which was topped up due to not enough numbness.Only had some pasta in evening as my jaw was tender. Felt slightly nauseas yesterday morning and immediately after lunch had diarrhea which has persisted.
The local anesthesia is not responsible for diarrhea. It must induce by antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, given after the procedure or pasta induced.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
