Can Lisinopril Be Taken For High Pressure?

I have had my blood pressure checked the past two days and it is elevated. I have never been diagnosed with high BP. Yesterdays reading was 148/90 (sitting) today was 146/105 (standing) I also had a cup of coffee ~ 1/2 hr prior to today's reading. My question is, would it hurt me to take my husbands Lisinopril (10 mg) until I find a doctor to go to? Also note I have a strong family history of cardiac disease on my fathers side. He had a massive heart attack at the age of 44. I am 50 years old, do not smoke, BMI = 22.4
