Can Increase In BP Of 152/102 Cause Headaches And Groin Pain Or Strokes?

Husband has Antiphospholipid antibodies, and has had several strokes. His blood pressure last week

was 199/113, it has dropped down to 148/104 and today has gone back up to 152/102, is this something

to be concerned about? He has complained of headaches and groin pain.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In your case, the headache seems to be because of high blood pressure. Control the blood pressure with medication and monitor blood pressure. Take low salt diet. Regular exercise will be beneficial in controlling blood pressure. Avoid stress, smoking and lack of sleep like precipitating factor. Provide history regarding viral flu, if present.

For groin pain, local examination needs to be done first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
