Can i have general anesthesia with a high BP ?

Hi, I m 25 years old, 5 6 and weigh 135 lbs. I have struggled with high cholesterol since I was 18, my recent check up came back at 319 for my LDL and total cholesterol was 400. I m having septoplasty/rhinoplasty surgery and I am concerned that having such high cholesterol can be of risk with general anesthesia? Should this be of great concern?

General Surgeon Dr. Mitesh R. Trivedi's  Response
Hello friend.
As such high cholesterol has no effect no surgery or anesthesia.
So, you will not have any problem in surgery if your routine blood investigation and chest x ray are normal.
But you should also get your e.c.g. done as high cholesterol is a risk factor for ischemic heart disease.
Best of luck.
