i took 4 planes within 1 week, from los angeles to new york & back. efore this i had somewhat liquidy earwax in my right ear. about a week after i returned i drank 2 bloody marys and vomited about 10 times. a couple days after that i was still dizzy/nauseated. i was diagnosed with vertigo, possibly due to an inner ear infection which i was givn antibiotics (cipro) for. i was better after a couple weeks. i would like to go skydiving soon.
Q. will the high altitude cause the vertigo to come back?
Hello! I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Considering the fact that your vertigo was due to inner ear infection, there is no reason for it to come back if the infection was successfully and completely treated. I suggest to consult your treating doctor (an ENT specialist would be better) so he can examine you and evaluate if the inner ear infection is completely healed. Depending on the examination your doctor can evaluate if it is OK for you to go skydiving.
It is important to consult your treating doctor and get his opinion before you do such activities to prevent any possible complication.
